Savoring Local Flavors in Davis, California
Green and local long before green was the new black and the local food movement the new green, the Davis Farmers Market has served as this university town's weekly watering hole for over 30 years. Stroll through the covered outdoor pavilion lined with produce, flowers, food, wine, and crafts from regional growers, chefs, and artists. Queue up for one of Pilar's Famous Tamales, and on a hot day, cool down with one of Aisu Pop's gourmet popsicles in such funky flavors as thai tea and sweet potato or kaffir limeade and avocado. The market is held on Saturdays all year round and also on Wednesdays in spring and summer.
