Cycling Through the City in Chicago, Illinois
On the last Friday of every month, cyclists from all corners of Chicago meet up at Daley Plaza in the Loop to begin the ritualistic romp that is the Windy City's Critical Mass ride. The rides aren't really announced, pre-determined, or thought out, as a "hive mentality" typically overtakes the multitudes of bikers and the course is determined more or less on the fly with a vague destination in mind. Dreadlocked radicals on funny bikes ride side by side with urbanites on the newest Bianchi models and everyone partakes in the freely flowing cans of beer and bottles of wine as the Bacchanalian bike tour winds for miles through the many, many 'hoods of Chicago.
