The annual Clau Wau or Santa Claus World Championships is a one-day red rampage of all things Christmas, competitive, and costumed. Santas from all around tackle chimney climbing challenges, sleigh races, and gingerbread decorating events for the chance to be crowned "World Champion Santa Claus."
While you will look very out of place climbing into the crowded ski lift without a pair of skis, the Alps of Samnaun offer much more than downhill action. Trekking along the pristine peaks of this unique region couldn't be easier with dedicated tracks and rest areas set up for taking in the best possible view. Because Samnaun was once only accessible via Austria, it feels remote, adventurous and untouched. The further in you venture the better it gets. Finish up with a hot chocolate or a warm beer overlooking the vast valleys and surrounding slopes of this snow seeker's paradise.
