Indulging in Ice Cream in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Banana cinnamon, Gina’s mocha explosion, Wild Turkey and walnut — Christina’s ice cream maker par excellence, Roy Ford, has created a smorgasbord of ice cream that knows no bounds. From the wonderful to the weird, the flavors alone pack the perfect ice cream punch, but this Inman Square establishment is one of the few places around to make homemade hot fudge and to-die-for butterscotch sauce. But judge for yourself—in neighboring Central Square, fewer than 10 blocks away, Toscanini’s Gus Rancatore serves his own gamut of creative flavors (gingersnap molasses, nocciola, caramel chocolate chip, anyone?) and homemade sauces. The exercise you’ll get traipsing back and forth to taste test will balance all indulging.
