Once upon a time this turn-of-the-century building was Chicago's main library. Now it serves as the city's cultural center, offering up free programs galore. The historic architecture alone is worth a trip for the beautiful mosaics and one-of-a-kind views of the city and Millennium Park. The grand staircase and Preston Bradley Hall houses the world's largest Tiffany stained-glass dome. Do as Chicago's children do and stand in the center of the dome and spin until you can't see straight. The architecture tour, which is free, is led by a docent every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 1:15pm.
