Feasting on Feijoada and Chorinho Music in Salvador, Brazil
The sprawling covered patio at Caminho de Casa somehow manages to maintain a low-key atmosphere, even when it's filled with customers. The menu offers the typical drinks—beer on tap, caipirinhas, batidas—and a wide variety of Bahian cuisine, from fried cassava to delicious smoked meat entrees and fruity desserts. On Sunday afternoons, Itaigara locals show up to feast on a buffet featuring feijoada, the national dish of Brazil. A live traditional chorinho band performs, and it isn't uncommon for children or couples to abandon their tables and dance a little samba in the true spirit of Brazil.
