Careening down a hill at top speed, capes flying, Elvis wigs askew, grown men and women sit perched atop tiny big wheels in a race for the finish line. The Easter Sunday Bring Your Own Big Wheel race is a San Francisco tradition that puts chocolate bunnies and Easter egg hunts to shame. Head to Potrero Hill at 4 pm and you’ll find a mob of people cheering on costume-clad adults as they live out every child’s fantasy—riding your big wheel down the steepest hill you can find dressed as Gumby. Only in San Francisco.
