Kicking Back and Singing Along in Salisbury, Massachusetts
It’s easy to take it easy at the Blue Ocean Music Hall. Before the show starts, you can watch evening settle on the Atlantic through the broad windows. Grab a bite and sip a beer. The venue is a friendly one; everyone sits around tables and gets to know their neighbors. The acts are easygoing too—it’s a beach town, after all. This is the kind of place where you come to see performers you know, for the fun of it. Most of the audience sings along, and the band encourages it. You compare notes with the people nearby about where you first saw the band. And maybe you remember which songs you first heard on vinyl, but that’s okay, because you’re not the only one.
