Rockin' the Demographic at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA
The young girl next to me bounced up and down with her 20-something friends to the heart pounding rhythm of World Beat. My group swung our hands in the air, frenzied remembrances of our youth, dancing to this very band at Woodstock. "Scoot over, Grandma," the youngster admonished when I bumped into her. A stranger beside me said, "That was rude of her!" "Not at all," I countered, "that IS my granddaughter." Silver-haired men and women share the dance floor with new devotees of every variety of music at the Belly Up, a cavernous tavern near the ocean. Plenty of seating, too, for when your knees remind you how long ago you first rocked the night away (and a full bar helps).
