If you could take just one photo: the museum's stained glass
A trip to Bartholomew Park Winery offers a chance to unwind near pastoral hills. There is a distinct sense of history in the terroir, flavored by a long chain of idealistic caretakers. The tasting room is the lively focus for visitors eager to delight in chats with pleasant company, or, for those inclined to a studious environment, the museum wing offers a more reflective mood. Here you may read up on the Hungarian count that first settled the estate, glimpse the historical faces and names of the region’s wineries, or learn about the progression of viticulture in the Sonoma valley. The museum even sports a surrey with a fringe on top. With new knowledge of the grounds, grab a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and snacks before heading out to the trails and tables that overlook the small vineyard for a slow, rustic picnic. If you’re lucky, ducks and egrets will grace the nearby pond. Enjoy superb wine, and breathe, play, and learn.
