Marveling at the City From Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland
While peering out at Edinburgh from Arthur’s Seat, it feels as though you could be floating along in a hot air balloon. You have the chilly breeze, the eerie quietness, the tranquility, and of course the view. It’s a pleasant hike up to the top of this mini-mountain, and can be done in an hour or two, depending on your pace and the route you take. The peak is located in Holyrood Park, which is a large, open oasis right near the heart of Edinburgh. There are some areas that seem to have the looks of a trail, but people are free to wander about wherever they like. At the top there is a little map that points out landmarks that can be seen from up here, and on a clear day there are many. Just don’t forget to bring your camera!
