Annie Bloom Books, located between O'Connors and Fat City Cafe, in Southwest Portland's eclectic shopping area known as Multnomah Village. Annie Bloom's is a must see when your visiting Portland. This quaint independent bookstore brings you back to a bygone era, when books were something you held in your hand and read the cover before making a purchase. After thumbing through the sale bin located on the sidewalk, you become engrossed by the themed window displays, and are drawn into the store. There is nothing glitzy about Annie Blooms, it's small and tight. Decor and lighting reminds one of stores from the early 70's. The shelves are neatly displayed with wonderful books, magazines and a small selection of music. For no additional charge all your purchases can be gift wrapped. Be sure to check out the events board, there is a good chance an author is coming or a poetry reading is about to happen. When its all said and done Annie Blooms is a great place to just hang out, read and meet other avid readers.
