Monkeying Around in Angkor, Cambodia
It's the only place in Angkor where dollars are disdained and carrying a banana in plain sight may start an altercation. On a dusty road near Angkor Wat, troops of monkeys line up by the side of the road for a photo and a sweet dwarf banana. The monkeys are so accustomed to being fed by tourists that they won't hesitate to pull at your pants or jump on your shoulders to get what they want. Since monkeys quickly gather at the sight of a new visitor, make sure to have more than just one banana handy. You can buy a bunch there for just one U.S. dollar.
