Whether hiking to the peak for the panoramic views of the San Francisco bay or hiking through the history of the "West Coast's Ellis Island", young and old alike will enjoy a day on this California gem. Your anticipation will grow as you feel the salty mist from the ferry spray and see Mt. Caroline Livermore loom before you. The 788 ft. peak beckons you and at the top you catch your breath from the climb and the incredible 360 degree view. You make your descent and head back in time as you explore the abandoned barracks and hospital of Fort McDowell. Over at the Immigration Station you feel the spirits of Asian immigrants as you read their graffiti left behind on the building walls. As the ferry takes you back you turn to bid adieu as you plan for a future return trip.
