Mingling With Many Other Recreationists in Laguna Niguel, California
This county park is so popular that it's wise to always stay alert. Endorphin-induced road and mountain bikers ("What speed limit?"), errant joggers, weaving inline skaters, aggressive skateboarders, chatty doggie walkers, stationary bird watchers, and distracted strollers all mix together in the trail systems of Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. At 4,200 acres with thirty miles of trails, you'd think there would be plenty of room, but the scenic chaparral canyons, mossy creeks, rock formations, vista points, and wildlife draw many fans, especially during weekends. These trails are maintained and range from easy to very strenuous, and from paved paths to ankle twisters.
